National Ice Cream Day is right around the corner on July 17th! When the Kansas summer sun is at its peak, you can’t beat enjoying your favorite flavor of frozen dairy. Before we all scream for ice cream, let’s take a look at some spots to celebrate National Ice Cream Day in Pitt.

Sugar Rush

Situated at the north end of downtown in a historic building, Sugar Rush offers a classic ice cream shop vibe next door to other dining and shopping establishments. You can enjoy a banana split or any type of ice cream you’d like (there are many flavors), along with a wide variety of toppings. The icecream is no joke either – it’s premium quality and shipped in from Michigan. They also offer vintage candy such as lollipops, salt water taffy and cotton candy. Along with selling premium sweets, the shop also hosts birthday parties, showers, cotton candy spinning events, candy buffets and offers catering.

TOAST

Ok, so gelato and ice cream aren’t exactly the same thing, but close enough. TOAST offers an excellent gelato counter along with their healthy, fresh lunch and dinner options. Located at the historic Block22 district in downtown Pittsburg, you can’t go wrong with any of their flavors. A personal favorite of ours is the Dulce de Leche, along with the banana. You might as well treat yourself and get a scoop of each. If you really want to take it to the next level, you could get a glass of wine to go with it too. The flyboy red pairs well with any dessert!

Pueblo Mio

If you want to try something a little bit different, Pueblo Mio across the street from Pitt State is the place for you. You can get all the typical ice cream flavors you’d expect, like chocolate, vanilla, and mint, but you should try some of their others. Ever wondered what tequila flavored ice cream tastes like? They’ve got it. There’s also a lot of other interesting flavors like pina colada, queso, cappuccino, and cheese cake just to name a few. If ice cream isn’t your thing, they’ve got a big selection of specialty popsicle flavors as well.

Many More!

There’s a whole host of other ice cream options in Pittsburg if you need a quick drive through, located all over town. Braums, Dairy Queen, Freddy’s Frozen Custard, and Sonic just to name a few. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll be sure to find a good spot to celebrate National Ice Cream day in the ‘burg.
