Check Out these Pittsburg Happy Hour Spots

TJ Leland's

Ahh, happy hour. Truly the best time of the day. You can’t beat having an excuse to pop out of work early and meet up with a few friends in the name of catching some drink specials. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of fun happy hour spots in Pittsburg, KS. Check out a few of our favorites, in no particular order.

TJ Lelands

Known for live music and a cozy, adult vibe, TJ Lelands is a great start to your night if you’re looking for drink specials on anything from draft beer to cocktails. Featuring rotating drink specials all week, you’ll quickly settle into the best night for you. Tuesday nights in particular are one of our favorites — every drink is a dollar off. 5th Street Bar & Grill

5th Street is a classic 2-story bar beloved by locals and college students. If you like a little bit of activity with your booze, they have darts and pool tables to keep you entertained. All those athletics will probably make you thirsty though, which isn’t a problem. They have some killer daily drink specials — such as Thursday night $4 double wells, and Friday $7.50 for doubles of ANY liquor behind the bar, well or fancy stuff. If you imbibe a little too much, they’ve also taken up the mantle of serving the iconic 1106er burger, which they do very faithfully.

505

A favorite of Pitt State students, 505 offers more of a club feel right in the heart of downtown. If you have just a couple bucks left and still want to have a good time, that’s no problem — as you can get double anything for just around $2 during happy hour. They also feature $1 beers as well. If you’re feeling adventurous, Karaoke is every Thursday and you can work up that happy hour courage to sing “Welcome to the Jungle” for a crowd that won’t mind if you miss a few notes.

Bubba’s 311 Club

We can’t quite place why, but shuffleboard and a stiff drink have always seemed to mix well. Maybe it’s the way our confidence starts to go up once we start imbibing, or maybe it’s the intrigue of being the only place in town with a shuffleboard. Either way, Bubba’s 311 Club offers plenty of action, with a spacious bar and large tables perfect for a big group. Known to offer especially good drink specials at key times of year when students are back in town, it’s not uncommon to see $2 double wells or $3 vegas bombs after 8pm.

McCarthy’s

Pubs are fun. It’s as simple as that. If you like your pubs with a lot of energy, an upstairs dance floor, and a great back patio, McCarthy’s is the place for you. If you’re about the value, Thursdays are the perfect time to check it out. $1.25 Natty Lights fit in pretty much anyone’s budget, and you can get $3.75 bombs as well if you’re in need of something a little stronger. You’ll also find great specials on Taco Tuesdays if eating tacos in a pub is your jam (and you know it is).
