Today, Revel Boutique in Downtown Pittsburg is one of the city’s top boutiques. It’s one of two locations, with the other in Carthage, Missouri. It has a website and an app. It’s everything you’d expect from a modern shop in a retail scene like Pittsburg.

“Revel actually started over 12 years ago as a consignment Ebay Girl business in a guest bedroom of my house with no business plan or loan at all,” said owner Heather Orschelin. “With much hard work and constant evolving and changing, it grew into the Revel Boutique you now know.”
“The City and Chamber both provide so much support for owners and also offer many creative events and promotions to help us thrive as well.”
The goal of Revel Boutique, Orschelin said, is to “bring big city fashion and brands to small town Kansas.” And, she said, the Pittsburg shopping community has been very receptive and supportive.
“Pitt is a great place to have a small business,” she said. “The people come out and support all the events and celebrations downtown all year. The City and Chamber both provide so much support for owners and also offer many creative events and promotions to help us thrive as well.”
“It is a community that supports local,” she said, “and thrives from its residents putting their money back into their own town rather than shopping in Joplin or Kansas City.”
