A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

Mention the word “CrossFit” to most people, and they’ll probably conjure up images of people in their 20s and 30s in peak physical fitness doing things that only the most in shape people can do.

Ask Luke Robinson what he thinks of when he hears CrossFit, and the images are all over the place. It’s people of all ages in all different shapes and sizes at different stages of life.

CrossFit is for anyone,” Robinson, owner of Pittsburg’s CrossFit 620, said. “Over the years we’ve trained high level athletes, grandparents, children, college students, and everything in between. I love being able to help people find fitness for the first time, or maybe just the first time in a while, as well as push the advanced to new highs.”

“We chose CrossFit, because it was unlike anything you could find in Pittsburg”

CrossFit 620, located at 112 N. Elm, opened in 2013 after Robinson noticed a unique gap in Pittsburg’s fitness offerings.

“We chose CrossFit because it was unlike anything you could find in Pittsburg,” he said. “The methodology and style quickly became a passion for me, and it was something that I could adapt and make accessible to all fitness levels and abilities.”

Robinson said he was confident that Pittsburg was the right city at the right time to make his dream a reality.

“I moved to Pittsburg in 2007 as a transfer to PSU, and my wife and I quickly decided that we would make Pittsburg home after graduation,” he said. “We chose Pittsburg for its economic potential, because it’s a great place to raise a family, and its small town feel.”

With the progress in Pittsburg over the past few years, Robinson said he’s even more excited for what the future holds.

And part of that small town feel is having class sizes small enough to get to know everyone who comes in the door.

“Still my favorite thing about CrossFit 620 is the community and camaraderie,” Robinson said.

With the progress in Pittsburg over the past few years, Robinson said he’s even more excited for what the future holds.

“The city is doing a great job of taking intentional steps to further opportunities and growth, not just for entrepreneurs, but for everyone,” he said. “I am excited to see how the City of Pittsburg, entrepreneurs, and CrossFit 620 will grow in the next 10 years.”
