Cooooooooooookies

It’s the big white box. It’s the perfect shape and placement.

It’s the smell. That sweet, delicious, just-give-me-all-the-cookies smell.

It’s knowing these sweet treats were made by a pro who loves doing it.

It’s a celebration. By Lori.

See where this is going?

“I have always loved baking and decorating, and I can’t imagine doing anything else,” said Lori Horton, owner of – wait for it – Celebrations by Lori.

“I have always loved baking and decorating, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

Since 2000, Horton has baked cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies, and anything you can imagine, really. They’ve been for birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, and just because people like dessert.

Celebrations is the 4-state area’s largest retail cake decorating and candy making supply shop. Horton’s shop offers brands like Wilton, Magic Line, AmeriColor, Satin Ice, CK Products, Bakery Crafts, and others. She also offers Wilton Cake Decorating classes, which are available year-round.

Celebrations by Lori also offers a variety of party supplies, a service she began in 2012.

“I am amazed how many people are still surprised to find out we have balloons, etc.,” she said.

They say you should find out what you love doing and make that your profession, and Horton is a prime example of that. She truly loves this stuff. She loves the people she works with. She loves Pittsburg.

Cookies shaped like footballs.

“The town has always supported me, and I do my best to support and help it be the best place to live and work.”

“Pittsburg has been my home for nearly 30 years,” she said. “The town has always supported me, and I do my best to support and help it be the best place to live and work.”

She said the support of the community has helped her manage the challenges brought on by the Covid pandemic.

“After 20 years in business, a road block like Covid-19 was never on my radar,” she said. “I am so grateful to have customers that supported us through it all and helped us come out on the other side still going strong. I am always looking for an opportunity to thank them all.”

Horton said she’s excited to see how Pittsburg continues to change and grow.

“Pittsburg has definitely changed a lot in the 21 years I have been open, mostly for the better, and I feel like it will only continue to get better each year,” she said.
